Privacy Policy | Nyblit

Last Updated: 14 June 2026

1. Introduction

Nyblit ("we," "our," or "the App") is designed to prioritise your privacy. We believe your tasks and plans are your own business. This policy outlines how your data is handled.

2. Data Collection and Storage

Nyblit does not create user accounts, and we do not store your task data on our own servers.

Your Data: All tasks, lists, and associated metadata created in Nyblit are stored locally on your device and synchronised via your personal Apple iCloud account.

Access: We (the developers of Nyblit) have no access to your task data, your iCloud login credentials, or your personal identity.

3. Third-Party Services

iCloud:

Nyblit uses Apple's iCloud services to sync and back up your data across devices and to facilitate sharing tasks securely with other users you choose to share with. By using Nyblit, you are also subject to Apple's iCloud Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for data loss caused by iCloud sync errors or outages.

Gmail Integration (Optional):

Nyblit offers an optional Gmail integration that lets you link email threads to your tasks, read those conversations inside the app, and draft, edit, and send replies — all without leaving the app. If you choose to connect your Gmail account:

Authentication: You sign in using Google's secure OAuth process. Nyblit never sees or stores your Gmail password.

What We Access: With your permission, Nyblit uses read-only access to your Gmail messages (the gmail.readonly scope) and the ability to create, edit, send, and discard drafts (the gmail.compose scope). We only read the content of the threads you choose to link to a task — including their subject lines, senders, recipients, and message content — so we can display the conversation within your task and let you reply.

How Your Email Is Processed and Stored: Your email is processed on your device. Nyblit does not send your email content to any third-party server, and we operate no servers of our own that receive it. Full message content is fetched from Gmail on demand to display a conversation and is not retained. For each thread you link to a task, Nyblit keeps a small reference — the Gmail thread identifier, the subject line, the participants' email addresses, and a short snippet of the most recent message — stored locally on your device and synced only through your personal Apple iCloud account, which we cannot access. Your emails always remain in your Gmail account.

Drafts and Sending: When you create a reply or a new draft, it is saved to your Gmail account as a draft so you can review and edit it. Messages are sent from your own Gmail account only when you choose to send them.

Revocation and Deletion: You can disconnect your Gmail account at any time in the app settings, or by revoking access in your Google Account permissions; disconnecting removes Nyblit's access immediately. Removing a task, disconnecting Gmail, or deleting the app removes the stored thread references described above. Because we operate no servers, we retain no copy of your email data.

Google API Disclosure: Nyblit's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, Nyblit:

  • uses Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features described above;

  • does not transfer Google user data to others except as necessary to provide these features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition;

  • does not use Google user data for advertising and does not sell it; and

  • does not allow humans to read your Google user data, except with your explicit consent for specific messages, where required for security purposes (such as investigating abuse), or to comply with applicable law.

Google Firebase Analytics:

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand which features in Nyblit are being used so we can decide what to improve.

No advertising, no ad tracking: We have explicitly disabled collection of the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), and we do not allow analytics data to be used for advertising or ad personalisation. Nyblit shows no ads and shares no analytics data with advertising networks or data brokers.

The identifiers we use: To count app installs and sessions, Firebase uses the device's vendor identifier (IDFV) and a random, app-generated installation ID. These are pseudonymous — they are not your name, email, or Apple ID; they are not shared with other developers; and they reset if you reinstall Nyblit or turn analytics off. We never link analytics data to your real-world identity.

What we see: Aggregate, anonymised data such as which features are used most often, how frequently certain screens are visited, and general usage patterns. For example, we might learn that "42% of sessions used the status wheel" — but we have no way of knowing whose sessions those were.

What we don't see: The content of your tasks, notes, projects, or emails is never sent to Firebase. We cannot read your data, identify you personally, or track your activity across other apps or websites.

Opt-out: You can turn analytics off at any time in the app's settings (General → Privacy → "Share Anonymous Analytics"). Collection stops immediately and the local analytics identifier is reset.

Advertising Attribution

SKAdNetwork: We use Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. This system allows us to know that an ad led to an install without revealing your identity or device details to us. This data is processed anonymously and cannot be used to identify you personally or track your activity across other apps and websites.

Firebase Install Attribution: We also use Firebase to confirm whether an ad successfully resulted in an install. The person who installed the app remains completely anonymous.

4. Mailing List & Communications

Unlike your app data, which is anonymous, our mailing list requires personal information to function.

Voluntary Sign-Up: We only collect your email address (and optional name) if you explicitly choose to sign up for our newsletter / tutorial updates via our website or the app settings.

Purpose: We use this data solely to send you product updates, release notes, and tips for getting the most out of Nyblit.

Management: We use a secure third-party provider (Wix) to manage our email lists. We will never sell, trade, or rent your email address to anyone else.

Control: You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send.

5. Direct Contact & Support

If you email us for support, to report a bug, or to offer feedback, we will naturally have access to your email address, name, and the content of your message.

Storage: We keep these emails in our secure inbox to resolve your issue and maintain a history of our conversation.

Usage: We use this information strictly to provide support. We do not add support email addresses to our marketing mailing list unless you specifically ask us to.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to anyone.

When you choose to use optional features that involve third-party services, data is shared only as described in this policy:

  • Google receives anonymous analytics data through Firebase. If you connect Gmail, Nyblit reads the content of the threads you link to tasks — on your device — to display and reply to them; your email content is not sent to any server we control, and your emails remain stored in your Gmail account.

  • Apple receives anonymous analytics and crash data through App Analytics and SKAdNetwork.

No data is shared for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond what is described above.

7. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

As a UK-based app, Nyblit complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation. You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.

  • Rectify any inaccurate data.

  • Erase your data (right to be forgotten).

  • Object to or restrict processing of your data.

  • Withdraw consent for any optional feature at any time (by disconnecting Gmail, disabling analytics, or unsubscribing from emails).

Because we do not create user accounts and most data is stored only on your device and in your personal iCloud account, exercising most of these rights is as simple as deleting the app or the relevant data within it. For any request you cannot resolve yourself, please contact us.
